Spring Salon 2008!

So I announced this on the family blog, but I figured that I should put it here as well. I'm thrilled to announce that I got two paintings into the Spring Salon, and placed 2nd overall for one of them. It was a 48"x70" of a field in southern France. I will post it as soon as I can remember to take a picture of it. The other painting was titled "Homestead" and is a painting from just outside of Baker City, OR. I could hardly believe it when I found out.

I wanted to post this particular painting because I painted it as a family portrait before our new son Ben was born. I've titled it family of trees, and it is a representation of me, Julia and our little girl, Rem.

It's been a while...

I hadn't been able to focus too much in the last week. I had a good reason: I was waiting for Julia to go into labor. Well, the short of it is that we have a healthy son. I feel so very lucky to be able to have such a fantastic family. I've felt so guilty about not working that, it is now time to get back to work.

I did have a great experience at the gallery last week. I took a handful of paintings up to the Meyer Gallery in Park City and within 30 minutes this one with the three herefords had sold. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does it feels FANTABULOUS!
